Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement

“Continous effort, not strength or intelligence, is the key to unlocking our potential.”
-Liane Cordes

The effort you put into something oversees anything else. Yes your intelligence and strength will help in some situations, but your effort is what will push you to succeed. If you are preparing for an AP test, yes your intelligence will be helpful and important but if you do not have the effort to study, to review to push yourself to go the extra mile, what good is your intelligence? Continuous effort will help you meet your goals.

“Success is dependent on effort.”

    -Sophocles, Greek dramatist

Success will lead you far in life, but you cannot be successful without effort. Everything you want to accomplish not only success depends on your effort. The effort to be someone in life, to prove others wrong, all the effort will lead you to success. If you want to achieve good grades, you need to put in effort! If you don’t put effort into your grades no one else will and your grades will suffer.  Put in effort in everything you do to become successful.

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens

Habit 7
Part 1

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

Teens should never get too busy living to take time to renew themselves. When teens “sharpen the saw” they are keeping their personal self sharp so that they can better deal with life. It means regularly renewing and strengthening the four key dimensions of life- body, mind, heart, and soul.
1.     Body. Eat wholesome foods, fruits, vegetables, legumes. Avoid illegal drugs, smoking, alcohol, tobacco products, tattooing. Exercise regularly and effectively. Get plenty of rest at night. Get to bed early at night and get up early each morning. “Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”
2.     Mind. Think positively. Read. Study. Think. Analyze. Seek to read a good book each month. Then each week. Ask intelligent questions. Observe. Develop your mind through positive “self-talk.”

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

-Helen Keller

It is always better to work together, in a group. United you can do things better and faster. As the saying goes “two brains worth better than one”. The other person can bring to the group what one cannot; more ideas that will lead to success can come out of working together. For example, it would take one person to do a group project around a week and a half, while if a whole group works together they may get it finished in a couple of days. Another example can be a person pushing a car, one person will take hours and will run out of energy, while if a group of people work together they can move the car faster with les exhaustion. You will get father and faster working together. You will accomplish many more when you join together.

“My strength is as the strength of ten because my heart is pure.”
                     -Alfred, Lord Tennyson

This statement may be very inspiring and heartwarming for some. A part of this statement is when you do things and make choices with a pure heart, it is worth way more. Another part is the strength that motivates someone, if ten people have strength but there heart is not pure, but filled with bad one single person’s strength with a heart that is pure makes up the strength of the ten. Everything done with a pure heart will always overcome the bad.
